Domestic ducks can easily live in the city. You have to be aware that they are pets and will require proper care. A lot of good information at the link below.

Here is a link that might be useful: Live Ducks

OH WOW I didn't notice this was your post also. SO you want frogs AND ducks! I think you better have more than a basin of water. How big is your yard? Is it fenced? Would you have room for winter shelter for the ducks and a pond? I think ducks will use those little baby pools but they will need open water in the winter too. It sounds to me like you really DONT want to be in the city! LOL I don't blame you. I have lived in the city all my life untill the last 4 years. I am out in the woods 30 miles from town and I swear I will NEVER go back! I LOVE it out here.

thankyou guys for the feedback. i will check out that site you provided. you are right lisa, maybe i don't want to be in the city, but at the same time, i do. i grew up a city girl and i have fantasies about having some wildlife in my backyard...other than birds and squirrels. anyhow, i plan to do this responsibly and the ducks are doubtful but i just wanted to see what comes from my research. i asked you another question about the frogs in my other post. thanks again.

Ducks produce a great deal of poop. I do not think keeping them confined is a good idea. They will live in their own filth, which is not good. They like to eat grass. A pool will not cut it.

If frogs wanted to live in your backyard, they would be there already.

Why don't you consider planting a wildflower garden with native wildflowers, to see what natural wildlife you can attract that way?
