| My ladyfrind's house is in a part of New Orleans that flooded, killing almost 100% of the neighborhood's plants.
She's been throwing bird seed for the wild birds and as a result has a huge crop of sunflowers! Which makes me curious - what birds will eat sunflower seeds? |

| loads and loads and loads of birds! I am not sure which are indigenous to your area. But sites like Wild Birds Unlimited will define what varieties of birds eat what kind of seed... Robin |

| The most annoying sunflower-seed-lovers we have here (close to Chicago) are House Sparrows and squirrels! (not a bird, I know). The House Sparrows are pretty aggressive and that's no fun. A few other birds here that munch on the seeds are: Finches (House and Purple) I don't know if any of these fall within your geographical range, but migratory birds will also feast on the seeds! You never know what you'll get. :) Enjoy! Sandy |

| Basically, finches will eat from the flowerheads. |
