I think periodically rinsing down the soiled areas is a good idea. Perhaps position the garbage containers so the dog can't nose it?

how cool. i just bought a bat house and havent gotten it hung yet.im not even sure what bats live in south florida but i bought it anyways. makes more sense to have bats eat bugs than to spray insecticides.

I bought one and painted it the colour of my hardiplant, a medium brown..it'sm on the front facing east and NOBODY even knows it's there (take that HOA!)

Bat guano is excellent fertilizer....you may want to sweet it up periodically and put on plants...

Speaking of insecticides, my town is going to start spraying for mosquitoes soon. What does this do to the bats? And also, this crap they spray, is it mosquito specific? Or will it kill off other insects?

As msrpaul suggested, I would just sweep the droppings into the garden as fertilizer. I wouldn't worry about the dog getting into them to much. Chances are, they are so small he/she won't even notice them, particularly if you sweep them into the garden daily.

msrpaul, yep, incredibly stupid. We aren't even a big town by any stretch of the imagination...pop 7600. We have a friend who works for the town...he's the city zoning officer...and I've already complained to him about the town weed n feeding around the water tanks. THAT makes no sense what so ever. That water tank is 1 1/2 blocks north of me. So here I sit, trying my darndest to get wildlife of all kinds in here, and they're going to spray for mosquitoes. Should I just slam my head into a brick wall instead??
