Dear Wildlife Forum,

I read the other artical about UK response to butterfly decline by using natives. I went to Ashlon, OR, "Oregon's La Jolla". Got beaten by the sun a little. Everything came out alright. I had to break a 5 so I bought you a tiny Beetle nut perfume bottle for 3 dls. It looks gorgeous. Then saw a 1" orange/blk checkerspot, Tiger swallowtail, Back in Ashlon I saw a large white (maybe great southern white), many dark sickle- wing Skippers...2 attached, a small yellow, Rufus Hummer on Aquilegia f., 5 Stellar jays at mountian edge & bottom & 1 gopher snake...handled then soon released, many rough fence lizards...the make was black with dorsal blue spots & vertical bands around belly, & Western Spring Azures or some Blues. I saw a Western Tanagers in Medford, Greenway( Bear Creek biking road), white tail deer in yard in Jacksonville( Mining Site) Monday. I saw 8 pair of CA Geese near artificial bare pools, 1 of the pairs had 4 half size zignets or Gozleens & 1 pair of ring neck pheasants yesterday in Medford industrial zone flying over a oneway road. The male withdrew at last minute; too much traffic was blazing.Didn't go to Jacksonville Botanical Museum.

PLants: Formosa Columbine, prple delpinium, ground cone, Balsam, 1 fire pink (Silene), 2 lomatiums, many Mariposa Lilies, 3 vetches, locoweed, 5 Syracius Milkeed in mountain bottom clearing, Lonicera ciliosa ?, milky ornge mountain Iris, bitter cherry, miner's lettuce (good), Dicentra cucullaria, 4 tall yellow & white umbell Parsley, Mahonia, 1 other common lonicera, trillium, Indian paintbrush, Black Oak, W Catalpa, Ponderosa PIne, Sumac, mistle toe, rhodos, Mount Helianthus, & poison oak.
