Any way to keep bees out of my Oriole feeder?

Flies and bees are attracted to my Oriole feeder. Both climb through the hole where the birds feed from and have drowned in the nectar. I've found at least a couple dozen bees so far and I feel terrible since there is a bee shortage now. I don't want to take the feeder down now though since the birds probably have nests and may be dependent on it.

Wondering if my Oriole feeder was poorly designed or if they're all that way.

Do you think I could somehow make the hole a little smaller so the bees couldn't fit inside?

Same thing happened to me once, and I felt awful and took it down.
You can buy them now with bee guards on them. Try a birding store, and you'll be more likely to find one of those. Take it down, and put some orange halves and jelly out for the orioles, until you find a feeder with a bee guard.
