i was out in the yard with my 2yo, and i walked past this little patch of pachysandra and a mama duck flew out at me. i went and looke at the spot where she had been, and she has a nest in our yard with at least 6 eggs. omg its next to a path that we use a lot, and next to a door that we use a lot, and next to a bed where i was going to plant some veggies. i suppose she came out there while we were gone on vacation or something, since the yard was deserted. though my husband and dd were out there yesterday for a while and they didnt see her.

but now im afraid that i scared her away and the eggs will be left to rot and die. and if i didnt, then how can we give her the privacy she needs to hatch her babies, raise them, and leave with them? we dont have a pond for them to swim in or anything, im not even sure how she found our yard. any advice?
