Robin defending Carolina Wren nest????

Hey everyone!

This is really strange to me, so I wanted to put it up here and get some opinions.

I have a Carolina Wren nest in large planter on my back porch. I think it's a repeat "visitor" because I had the same type of bird nest in a planter on my FRONT porch last year.

Anyway, about a week ago, I noticed there was a House Wren hanging around the back porch. He was singing like crazy and perching around the general area where the nest is. He eventually went away, but ever since then there has been a Robin that visits that area every day. He sits up on the railing near the nest, then goes over to a chair on the porch, then down near the nest. He stays for a little while and then flies away. I don't have a feeder, and there really doesn't seem to be any "reason" for the Robin to be hanging out in that area. He didn't start doing that until I saw the House Wren near the nest.

Is it a coincidence? Am I just crazy? Is it possible the Robin is guarding the Carolina Wren's nest from the House Wren?

Thanks. :)
