Need wildlife ideas for some niche areas

I am working on a bird and butterfly friendly yard. Some areas that I THINK I have covered:

Hummingbirds/butterflies: trumpetvine, mostly native perennials(lobelia, bee balm, phlox, chives, scabiosa, parsley, salvia, verbena, sundrops)

Birds (food): sunflower and thistle feeders, coneflowers, juneberry, virginia creeper, dogwood, grapes

Birds (cover): loblolly pine, oaks, redbud, bradford pear, small cedar

My problem is that I know I am lacking ground-level cover for the birds and nesting sites and maybe some other areas. I don't really have any all day-full sun areas. Most are part sun at best. I have a few spots, but most are pretty small, and/or shady, and/or damp. Are there any thoughts for some small cover or food sources for birds? Also, are there other additions that you would recommend to help make my yard complete? Any wildlife plants that you wouldn't do without?

Thanks,

TBT
