rubus odoratus in a pot

i got one of these a few years ago and discovered it was wildly invasive in a small garden like mine. i gave it to a friend in the country. then one last sucker surfaced and i have it planted in a large pot sunk in the ground in a hedge. so far so good, but will this last?
