what eats new jersey tea?

I have a New Jersey tea with all its leaves chewed off on all the branch tips (only center veins remaining, and intact lower leaves). I'm not complaining--obviously some kind of caterpillar did it, but what kind? I don't see any caterpillars or pupae--what is New Jersey tea a host plant for?
