Bill Cullina's list of important plants for wildlife

I came across this and thought some of you might find it interesting. The one he listed that surprised me were native roses.

Your link didn't go directly to the list. I'll link it below in case someone had trouble finding it. The list starts a little more than halfway down on the page linked below.

I have several things on his list. I used to have a wild rose with pink flowers (forgot name) but it has disappeared.
I don't have red cedar because they are so abundant in my area.
I confess I know very little about grasses and sedges. We have a hayfield with an assortment of grasses but I don't know what they are. Not sure there's anything native.

For those of you interested in growing native plants as cover and food for wildlife, The University of Idaho Reforestation Program sells seedlings of natives that are useful for wildlife.

They are top quality plants and very reasonable in price.

But they may not be native to your area so check with your own states conservation or forestry department.
