| We have this berry all over our wilderness property (sky high ranch) and don't know what kind it is or if we can eat it.

| I'm not a botanist, but to me this looks like some sort of gooseberry (Ribes genus). If that's the case, yes, it is edible. |

| I have no idea what it is, what an interesting looking plant. You could post on the "Name that Plant" forum, they can probably ID it very quickly. |

| Have you gotten an answer? It is not a gooseberry. It has the leaves of a red currant, but all the red currants I know have berries growing in bunches like miniature grapes. |

| It definitely looks like a currant. Where do you live? Out west we have a plant called Wax Currant (Ribes cereum) that looks much like yours and doesn't have berries in clusters but instead much like your plant. BN |
