I had some at one point but it didn't do well and disappeared. Does it like very dry conditions? If so, I have a new place for it.

I see an occasional grey hairstreak, usually on a Rudbeckia of all things.

Elaine...mine's in total sun, right next to the concrete pool decking, so it gets fried...LOL
I do water it once a day, though...usually in the evenings.
The 'critters' get a bit angry if I water it during the day while they're snacking...LOL

I planted some last year, and they came back on their own this year and are doing well. They ARE a magnet for butterflies, and just the other day, I saw them all and decided to always have anise hyssop! Thanks for sharing your pics.
Elaine.....mine are in a dry spot too, and really seem to like it there.

I love this plant too...I see hummingbirds visiting it, bees love it, it attracts all kinds of beneficial insects, and the birds adore the seeds in fall!!

I have the purple and the white varieties.
I think the key to growing these is good drainage. They do not like wet feet.
