Leave them alone for now, wait until they leave in fall, then block their access to the umbrella.

Do not move the bats now. Please don't hire someone to do it. Bats are raising their babies now, they get very disoriented during the day, in many states it's illegal to interfere with bats, and you can easily resolve the situation by just waiting. Also: Millions of bats have died in the last few years of a terrible disease, and it may take decades, if at all, for bat populations to recover.

Do put up bat houses for next year!

Thank you I did not know what was going on with the bats I wasn't thinking about it before but now I definitely want to put up some bat houses. I just hope I can mount them on my garage since I am in-town and live on a rock shelf(can't put a 15' 4x4 in) The location would be at the back of the garage over our garden area(but that can be moved if not done away with)

If you put up the bat house reasonably close to the current roost, and then take the umbrella down and leave it down until you see them roosting in the bat house they should be easy to persuade that the bat house is better. They will still crap all over the place, but if it's a flower bed, it's fertilizer.

Just wait until they vacate the umbrella.

Guano..bat crap...has a very high market value as fertilizer. Scrape that stuff off and use it, it's worth its weight in gold.
