Dolphin hunting

This is a quote from a house painter from Taiji (the town not far from the cove where they kill dolphins in Japan.) "I can never understand those Westerners' argument. They eat cattle, pigs and chicken. We eat dolphins and whales. That's it." I don't understand how he doesn't see the enormous difference: Cattle, pigs, and poultry are farmed animals, raised with the express purpose of supplying meat for humans. Dolphins are wild creatures, and their aren't a whole lot of them left. We can't just raise a bunch more if we hunt them to extinction. More:

| I guess it's all in your point of view. I find it appalling that they hunt, to extinction, dolphins and whales. But all countries, are fishing, to extinction, most fish in the oceans. I just don't eat fish any more. |

| Catfish, salmon and shrimp are raised on farms now, maybe dolphins will be next. Whales I'm not so sure. Some cultures find it appalling that we eat cows and pigs. |
