What birds eat the berries of chile pequin?

RE: chile pequin

NW,

I've read a few accounts that mockingbirds really like these little peppers. I've seen the California Towhee foraging on the closely related variety, "Capsicum annuum aviculare", in my yard, but not too heavily. This is just fine with me, because I collect the fruits for my own use ;)

On a related note I've seen some types of retail parrot mixes that include hot peppers in their ingredients. I have a friend with some Amazons that swears by these mixes. And there are some "squirrel-proof" seed mixes on the market, but the birds in my yard won't touch them...

Mike
