Chipmunk keeps staying in garage

We tried to scare it away a couple of times, but it keeps coming back to the same spot. In the middle of my garage sitting on some cardboard. It looks like it's trying to sleep or something, or dying...

What's up with it? It was also very easy to catch, we just took a container and put it over it's body. I even walked up to it and it didn't move until i made a noise.

It is likely ill. You might call a vet in your area and ask them who might take in a wild critter.
