hey c, how wonderful. I have walking sticks all over my house and garden. they are the coolest! thx for posting the PIC. you know, I have never seen just one. I always see the large one (I assume the female) with the smaller one on her back.

You DO know that they are plant eaters, right? Just making sure, lol! A whole bunch of them would NOT be a good thing!

Oh, is that what those are! I found one of them on the edge of the slider a couple of weeks ago. It seemed to be looking for a sheltered spot.

Great pic Terrene! They're definitely interesting-looking creatures.

You know where I kept finding walking sticks?! Get this, on one of my hummingbird feeders. I would gently put him back on the ground, and the next thing I knew there he was, back on the hummer feeder.

As anyone else noticed this? Do you know why he was so attracted to the hummer feeder?

Praying mantids are commonly found lurking on hummingbird feeders, but not walking sticks. Are you certain about what you saw?

A walking stick would have absolutely no reason whatsoever to hang around a hummingbird feeder.
