help me with my hen-of-the-woods!

We should not forget that the wildlife garden feeds US, too!

A friend just presented me with an absolutely wonderful hen-of-the-woods mushroom, and I haven't a clue how to fix it other than the usual way I do my morels, which btw is the only wild mushroom I trust myself to properly ID. I was sure there were some of you here who could share some of your favorite recipes with me!
It's at least a 15 pounder, had to smoosh it ever so slightly just to get it into the cripser drawer in the fridge! This friend had found several on the same day and sold a few to a local gourmet restaurant and then gave this one, probably the choicest, to me as a gift.
I am not about to let it go to waste! To "waist" is another issue! :)

got any suggestions??

Lucky you! If you google using 'pan roasted hen-of-the-woods mushroom' (or something like that) you'll come up with zillions of good suggestions. I'll attach one site which explains a bit how to clean and store it, besides some cooking ideas.

I'd be sorely tempted to cook it with some savory herbs (like fresh thyme and rosemary), butter, and then add some wild rice. What a perfect side for chicken or pork!

Here is a link that might be useful: click here
