Unwanted black birds

I have had about 50 blackbirds eating at my bird feeders and on the ground for the last 3 weeks. What can I do with these birds? If I use containers that only small birds feed, then my mockingbirds, and blue jays can't eat.

How far does the flock goes. It takes a lot of food to feed 50 birds. If you take down the feeder for a few days, the flock may move on somewhere else and be someone else's problem.

When they are there go outside and clap your hands several times to make a loud noise. They do not like this and at least for me after about a week they keep going. You have to re-educate them each fall and spring but they get the message.

If the weather is really bad I will let them eat for about 10 minutes before scaring them away.
