 o
is this a bargain or not?

I was at my local nursery and see they have little pine trees (looks like little Scotch pines plus another type) for only $2.50 each. These trees were intended to be little Christmas trees that you keep outdoors but bring in for a few days around Christmas to decorate.

I was toying with the idea of buying some to put in windowboxes over the winter. I would pair them with trailing ivy.

I think I would have to baby them a bit because they are used to be indoors at the nursery.

My idea would be to keep them trimmed and used for this purpose year after year. Any input on how practical this idea is?

For that price it would hardly matter how things turned out. Might as well try it.

I don't know that you could succeed, for the long run, in keeping Scotch Pine trimmed enough to put in window boxes but at $2.50 each it would be fun to play with them.
