This is the 2nd winter I have had this...the first winter, the blooms were a little sparse due to a rough time at the nursery (I bought it for half off in the fall). This year its gorgeous...hope to get more growth out of it next year...Does anyone know how fast these tend to grow?

If you get less than one foot per year it won't necesarily mean there is a problem. Faster is possible, of course. Watch for Hamamelis virginiana rootstock sprouts.

Lucky you--Diana is beautiful. I have two, both about 10 years old, about 10-12 feet high. They were 1 gal. pots when I bought them.

Congrats on getting a good deal. I'm always watching for them, too. Last fall I got what I thought was a good deal at Home Depot--huge witchhazels, unlabeled in 5 gallon pots, for $5 each! I snatched up three of them and plunked them in. This year they did bloom, and they are red like Diana but the blooms are itsy bitsy, almost un noticeable!
Well, at least I'll have good fall color. Stick with the hybrids--Diana is lovely.

'Diane' is correct, and not "Diana": "Named after Robert and Jelena de Belders' daughter" (Lane, WITCH HAZELS).

For what the Home Depot purchase might have been...

Without looking it up, at least some are hardy to Zone 5. I live in the SE corner of Wisconsin, zone 5, and have the species and a Jelena and they both are doing fine.
