The wierdest thing...

I was walking around the garden today, seeing if anything was popping up.
I noticed green things on my Gaillardia seedheads I have left on for the winter. The seeds had germinated. Has anyone else had something like this happen? |

| Yes, I have seen other old seedheads of Asteraceous plants with sprouts. |
