Winter veggies

Has anyone done well with winter peppers or a tomato in a greenhouse ??
If so, what kind were they and how did you do it ??
In pots on the ground or still in the ground ??
Am thinking of getting/building a small greenhouse so I can extend the home grown food and get an early start the following year.

i am going to do some 60 to 70 day veggies towards the middle of summer in the hopes that the season will be long and the plots are close to the house...the heat should help late in september...visit me at my web site and i should have some pics of this years garden posted...

Don't you have to hand pollinate sice there are no bees around to do it for you?
How will you do it?

forget the greenhouse--you can grow kale or collards outside all year and boy are they yummy in italian type soups like minestrone. Yum
