Welcome KT peeps

| I hope, some KT peeps are following me here. I am so tired of not getting to "play and talk" with my friends. THS is just to slow and aggravating at this time, to mess with trying to post there.
I am also hoping that everyone that used to post here won't mind us invading their space.
Please accept my apology for this invasion ahead of time.

Hi Moni! You are a clever one aren't you!!! Hey, we might as well be at the WINTER GARDEN because I'm wondering if Spring is ever going to come to stay here in MN. I know you most likely have things blooming already, especially since you had tulips before Easter. Our poor little tulip leaves are beginning to poke through the ground ~~~ and I think I saw them shivering! I don't know if I'll have much time today because we are going to have our DGS Aaron over for the evening. He is nearly 4 -- need I say more! It's a good thing there are two of us and only one of him! I did actually get outside yesterday and took the top layer of leaves off the beds and fluffed the rest of the cover to give them air. I'm actually looking forward to planting this year. I haven't started anything indoors so I will be buying all the plants. I hope some others follow you over here. I haven't been doing much posting lately, but when it gets so hard to even read, that really bugs me! Hayjud |

| Judy, after the freeze we had over Easter I lost a lot of plants, well, they got set back. I had a lot of stuff covered, with blankets, sheets, table cloth, buckets, dishpans, trashcans and boxes. Most of the covered stuff is ok, but some froze anyway. I wish I had taken a picture of all that stuff in my yard. :) It's cold for us, in Oklahoma, but not to cold for the season. If we just hadn't been teased by the nice temps in March and early April... not so much stuff would have bloomed or budded out early. To cold and wet today to go for a bike ride. But tomorrow better watch out... I will ride then. Have fun with Aaron. Moni |

| Its been pretty much the same here in Indiana.....those 80 degree temps had us believing that spring was finally here. So, I thought I'd get a jump on getting my large house plants back outside for the summer season...big mistake. I too, covered everything with sheets, blankets, old feed bags..just about anything you could imagine you could use to cover them and hope the freeze didn't get them. I think the Rubber tree might make it but the Dracena and Arrowhead plant really look bad. I don't know if they will recover or not. The local Peach growers said that all the fruit trees were damaged and that they will have no peach crop this year. The Dogwoods did look beautiful tho' and are just now beginning to lose their blossoms. I wonder if I should repost my little backyard buddy photos here....don't want to infringe on the Winter Garden forum too much....I might post one at least.... ~Kathy~ |

| I don't think a lot of folks have found out about Monis idea to post here yet BA...seems the Garden Forums are at least working where the Home Forums seem to be having some server problems. I thought it was all a problem with my computer until I got an email from another Forum user that said she was having the same problem...hope they get it resolved soon... ~Kathy~ |

| Me too, it's been driving me crazy. Weather here in WV is still dreary, damp and cool. Can't get outside to play in the dirt yet, just woke up from a nap. |

| I'm here too. I'm bored today, but I don't feel like doing anything. It's too cold out to go for a walk. At least the onions I planted a few weeks ago are coming up. |

| Hi KTers - Thanks Moni. I just got your email. Can you say WITHDRAWL???? Barbara |

| Well, since we are on the Winter garden side...does anyone (besides Susans lovely onions) have "cold weather" veggies showing themselves yet? Since we've been "city people" now for at least 25 years DH and I don't plant as many things as we used to.....I might try some tomatoes in containers this year and that will certainly be a first for me. My Mom said the onions, radishes and lettuce in her garden are all really doing well and since they aren't usually hurt by a sudden cold snap they are all thriving. She started her Early Girl tomatoes in small containers and they should be ready to transplant in a couple of weeks....I wish I had my Moms green thumb, I swear she could get a dead twig to sprout. Any other folks veggie gardeners??? ~Kathy~ |

I'm here too now. I can't even get in over at the KT. It times out every time I try, for 3 or 4 days now. I've gotten a lot more done, not setting here all the time, but it's not as much fun. DD went to ElPaso this morning, with her dad. I guess they're going to unplug his mom, her gramma. I guess her kidneys failed a couple weeks ago or so. I don't know the whole story, as he's very secretive, and doesn't even tell DD much. (probably cause he don't want me to know anything). DD's soon to be ex has the kids until tomorrow night. Then I'll be taking Carley to school every day (12 miles 1 way) and then going back to pick her up at 3:00. She'll be back Thursday afternoon around 4:00. My tulips look kinda limp. I was out scratching in the dirt, and pulling off some dead leaves and old lily stalks, and came across a nest of those "cute as a button" plant killers. Scared me. My flowering crab tree looks a little burnt, but hopefully it'll still bloom. It's 54° right now, and hopefully it'll just keep warming up. Good to have some where to post and read. Leslie |

| I know what you mean Leslie...DH said these little buggers have got to go some where if we have any hope of raising anything in the back yard....they NEVER stop eating!!!! And they eat EVERYTHING!!!! Had a nest of them at the old house and didn't know they were there...stuck my hand down in a small crevice to pull out some weeds...I thought my heart was going to stop!!! Scared the bejeebers out of me... ~Kathy~ |
RE: Welcome KT peeps

LOL I agree with Leslie, those "cute as a button" FIVE (5!) bunnies are enough to eat off anything and everything you plant, unless you plant about an acre! They just love keeping all the new little seedlings from growing into actual plants. You'll have to tell us how cute they are in June! LOL I think they are one of the most challenging parts of gardening. But they are cute! Hayjud |

| Moni, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending me and email to tell me about here.....I am going nuts without my KT family! I was able to post on the kt earlier this morning with great patience, but now I time out every time.... Thanks for thinking of me! Trin |

| Moni,Thanks for the email and the invite.I've been having serious withdrawl s all week.Couldn't get into KT,The Quilting forum.or the Sewing forum.Think they'll ever get it fixed?? Or shall we send them the geek squad.LOL So how have you all been and what have you been up to?? I've been doing some transplanting to bigger pots for some of my plants and cleaning up the gardens.I still have some more weeds to pull, but dh watered this morning,so it's still too wet to work out there. Good to see you all again, and i hope GW gets their problems resolved. Have a great weekend gals. Kathi |

| Thanks! Are we going to stay here? It was so frustrating that I got in the kitchen and cooked lunch for everybody tomorrow. I'm desperate when I voluntarily cook. My 15 y o GD was here and helped me. I have to have a little wine while I cook, and I am feeling no pain. These computers are going to drive me crazy! |
