North carolina winter fava beans

I live in zone 7 in North Carolina. I am curious to know if anyone in my area has ever grown Fava beans. I have ordered "winsor" favas from pinetree seed, and not sure if I know how to get them to grow. To the best of my knowlege you plant them in fall around November and harvest in late spring. My main concern is about the planting times. Also I have ordered overwinter onion seed."High Ball" and wonder if anyone knows anything about them. By the way thanks to all the gardenweb members and to gardenweb, the best source of info on the web! See you in the garden! thanks.
