help with choosing winter plants

I'm in southeastern VA. i have an area about 7' in width between windows on the front of my one-story that would be perfect for some kind of vine. i want something that will add color and interest to that area since my DH wants to keep all the boxwoods out there. i'm looking for something non-invasive, with berries for my bird friends, that will look great through the winter months. Any ideas?

RE: help with choosing winter plants

A work-intensive suggestion would be an espaliered plant of any of dozens of sorts that bear bright winter fruit. A simple solution might be Pyracantha or a rose with bright rose hips.
