Winterberry

Hi all,

I just bought two winterberry bushes today. One is a 'Sparkleberry' female and the other has no berries, so I am assuming it's a male. Now, I know that 'Apollo' is a good pollinator for 'Sparkleberry', but my question is, is the unknown male I have at least a possible pollinator? If it helps, the leaves on the male seem to be significantly larger than those on the female.

Thanks!

RE: Winterberry

Were the plants not tagged? The only way to know for sure will be next spring. If it is a male Ilex v. and it's blooming the same time as 'Sparkeberry', berrying should result -
