Winter cleanup of leaves in shrubs

| Should all leaves inside shrubs be removed for winter, or should they be left and cleaned up in the spring? |

| Unless there is a reason - insects or disease - I leave all the leaves there and don't bother cleaning them up in spring either - natural mulch.... |
