indoor peppers

before it froze i dug up one of my sweet banana pepper plants. it had buds. it quickly wilted and the buds fell of. 3 months later i have 3 peppers 1 is green, but the other 2 have turned purple.They were yellow and red last summer.

has this happened to anyone else? Could it be because they did not get enough light? they are right in front of my large living room window.
