Anyone try growing Litchi Tomatos in Wisconsin? Going to try growing them this Spring.

Yes, I've grown them for several years, as the variety "Morelle de Balbis". Culture them as you would eggplant. I will be starting mine this weekend. Be really careful of the thorns... they are cute when the plants are small, but become quite vicious in the mature plants. Expect a 4-5 foot tall plant, which will sprawl unless caged - which I highly recommend, to harvest the fruit without injury. I guess I should say, with minimal injury, because you will get stuck a few times.

The plants are really beautiful, but I wouldn't place them near a high-traffic area, or where small children could get into them.
