Timing Cilantro

With all the tomato growers we have around here, certainly some of you have had the same problem I have. Salsa time comes around August, but the Cilantro has come and gone to seed already.

This year I collected the seed and intend to spread it within the same patch as the mature cilantro sometime in July with hopes that I'll get fresh cilantro for salsa when the tomatoes are ripe.

Good plan? Better ideas?

I plant cilantro in the spring and again in the summer. It seems like I never have enough! Come to think of it, I should probably plant it in the house right now, and then plant a bit every month to make sure I have enough. And I really should start the basil that is sitting on my kitchen counter!

My mother planted some that she keeps in the house, in a pot, so that she always has some on hand.
