Greening Up? Soybean meal distributor?

Hey fellow cheeseheads,

Two questions for you:

1) Anyone else with KBG finding a slow greenup? The other cultivars in our neighborhood (western Dane County) have greened up. Those of us with KBG are very slow to green up. Just curious. I'll probably get out later next week to aerate, toss on some milorganite, and add soybean meal which leads me to question 2.

2) Those of you in northwestern Dane County / southeastern Sauk County, where do you get soybean meal? I've picked up 50 pound bags of it at a co-op in Middleton, but the guy is usually a horse's you-know-what. So I'd like to find a different place to take my business. Any referals?

Yes, my KBG is always slow to green up. The benefit is that the early to green lawns are also the first to brown out in the summer.

I get my soybean meal at a coop in Watertown.

Glad to hear I'm not alone. Still, it seems later this year than past years. Usually I can get a mowing in by Easter. Not so this year. Oh well.

Thanks for the Watertown reference. It's a little far for me being in western Dane County. But I appreciate the response.
