| Everything in my yard is showing signs of life except the Rose of Sharon and Hibiscus I planted last year.
Are they dead or is it still to early for them? |

| I was planting in my yard today and dug up a Hosta 'Great Expectations' that I forgot about. It was still an inch or so below ground (nice, plump buds) and all my other hosta are at least showing. This has been such a prolonged spring that I wouldn't give up on anything yet. Will be in the 30's again tonight. tj |

| It is still way too early for them. Even in a normal spring they don't show signs of life until late May/early June. I did notice one of my rose of sharon showing signs of life today, but it is in the hottest part of my yard. All my other hibiscus still look dead, but they are not. |

| Thanks, it is helpful to know what is happening in my 'neighbor's' yards, particularly for plants new to me. |

| Both of these plants are extremely slow to break buds in Spring...have patience and they will, though, as both are perfectly hardy. Dave |
