Sandlady, that's great news. I wish I had been following your thread because I can't grow poppy to save my soul.
What did you do?

Daddylonglegs, I direct sowed some of the seeds early winter, and winter sowed some over the winter in soda and juice bottles. I seeded 2 varieties and both grew! Both methods worked too! The winter sowing forum has pretty detailed explanations on how to do it. I had success with other winter sowing things too, but the poppy really thrilled me. It was a last ditch effort, I was about to give up on them.

I don't know Jen, I think you two are probably part of the same evil force that makes me try roses year after year.

OK, I'll trust you guys. I'll get my hopes up and wait at the window all winter, and if it doesn't work I'll be bringing you the most invasive plant species I can find at the next plant swap!
