Chicory (yes, the weed by the side of the road), and black eyed susans.

    Kathy,
I love Chicory! I sometimes let the Chicory bloom on the edges of our long driveway, before cutting the grass. what a nice combo w/the B-eyed Susans!

    Daddylonglegs,
Great B-bee photo! Since this is the "C" photos thread, I would label it "C is for Creature Comfort"

Thanks for sharing, both of you.....
    Any more?

Thanks, Julie. I dug up a clump from the side of a road (I carry garden tools in my car...doesn't everyone?!). I love the light blue color, and how it looks with susans, and the orange daylilies that bloom at the same time.

The only problem is that it gets huge in the garden, about 6' tall, instead of the small, sweet thing it is by the side of the road.

    Hi Janet! Gorgeous Clematis!

I carry garden tools in my car...doesn't everyone?!
LOL, Kathy! No, I don't, but I should. I should also carry my camera with me in the car....saw a Sandhill Crane yesterday in a man-made pond by the local Piggly Wiggly, and could have snapped a shot!

Daddylonglegs, beautiful Centaurea montana! I also have that one, and it blooms longer for me than my C. d. 'John Coutts'.

    Thanks Julie!

My nightly prowls spraying earwigs has finally resulted in having few clematis blooms with no chew holes.

Cedar Waxwing is said to do best with afternoon shade and that's where this one is. It kinda glows there. Probably my favorite of the ones I own. I only saw it at one nursery and only one year around Milwaukee. My brother saw it and wanted one and could not find it. That reminds me, I owe him a division ;-).

I like the older daylilies. I looked it up, Cedar Waxwing was registered in 1979. Last year I was looking for a daylily that would look good with purples/blues. I'll post the photo from last year. It's a late bloomer so I don't have flowers yet.

It nice that you share with your brother ;-)

    Margo,
Love the door surrounded by Cleome!
I've grown Cleome before, but it never reseeded for me like it's supposed to.
Lovely Clematis, 'Multi-Blue', I mean 'Crystal Fountain'!
I also grow it, one of my favorites.

    Thanks for sharing!

I have cleome everywhere! I even cut off all the flower heads last year, and they still reseeded themselves. One year I cut them all down in fall and put them on a pile of dirt. The next year my husband used that dirt to fill in our lawn between our house and the neighbors. Low and behold, the whole thing was filled with cleome.

    Margo,
    Pretty Hosta!
I want to plant more Hostas, but I'm running out of shade. Will 'Carnival' take some sun?

    Gardenquest,
Looks like a very healthy plant!
Are the tomatoes purplish in color?

'Carnival' burns really easy. I had to actually move it to a more shaded area of my bed. A lot of the gold colored ones can take more sun. My 'August Moon' gets a lot of sun and it looks beautiful!
