I've cut mine down so there's maybe 4" or so of leaves left. Mine shade some of my perennials too much too. I've been doing this for at least 6 yrs and it hasn't stopped them from growing well the next spring. The tips of most of mine are starting to turn brown, so I know they're getting ready to die back. It's just that they take so long to die back completly, so I help them. :)

Hi Lee,

If you haven't cut your daffodil foliage yet, you can also fold them over and tie them. You can use twine or just break off a piece and tie it with that. You'll hardly notice them afterwards and when you do they'll look tidy.

Too late Mary!! There all ready being eaten in my compost bin. By the end of the month they will be back in the garden in a new form!!
