Anyone else have Black Beauty Sambucus?

I have two of these and a Black Lace Sambucus. My Black Beauty grew to be very big this year (I think this is its 3rd year) but it's very floppy and sprawling rather than upright. I was on a garden walk last week and saw other people staking and tying theirs up also. I am thinking of ripping the black beauties out if they can't behave. Anyone else have this shrub? What is it doing for you? I do enough staking between all of my lilies and hibiscus. I don't need a shrub that needs to be staked too.

OOOh, I am really interested to see the answers to this post. I want to buy Sambucus for one of my back beds.

I have several sambucus in the garden including one of the dark purple varieties and Sutherland's Gold and as well. I am pretty severe cutting them back each winter (up to 1/2 the oldest stems or even completely cuttin back to within two feet of the ground). They never get totally huge,maybe 7 - 9 ft. in a summer, but they also never flop.
