Oh Jen, I am so jealous, but happy for you too! I suppose you know I kill Hibiscus, probably because they need more water than I give them! Hey, you never know about Shopko - sometimes you can get some good plants, although the staff doesn't always take care of them properly. Thanks for sharing, Julie

I don't water them very much. They are very, very late to emerge. I accidentally killed one last spring because I forgot I had one planted and put a shovel through it's poor plant heart. LOL. The white flowered one sets tons of seeds, so if you want to take your stab at them again I can send you some seeds when I get them. I did have success winter sowing hardy hibiscus. Jen

Thanks Jen, for the offer, but I think what I'd rather try is growing a few more Dahlias. At least they don't die on me! I've tried Hibiscus every year for three years and they grow beautifully the first year, and come back the second year very weak looking, then wilt away to nothing. We are on somewhat of a hill, and always have breezes here, so everything dries out quickly, and I don't think Hibiscus can handle that environment. I'll just enjoy looking at everyone else's Hibiscus pictures! Julie

I think the wind is what does it. I have lots of mature trees in my yard, so everything is pretty well protected.
