Fall Planting in Wis.

I see that some of the mail order companies ship perennials in the fall. I'd like to try a new oriental poppy, but I'm not sure it would survive the winter. Has anyone ever tried it? T.I.A.

mike, I do most of my perennial planting in the fall. (Plants are least expensive, then). The old saying is that if it blooms in the spring, plant (or separate) in the fall. If it blooms in the fall, plant in the spring.
