Seems about normal to me (needing to mow 1x/week). What seemed unusual was how long I got away with not mowing it during the summer. That was nice.

With this summer weather we're having in September, it doesn't surprise me that the grass is growing. Last year most nights were in the 30's here, which may have slowed things down.

This is what I am saying. Something is not normal. I don't remember it ever being like this. I just chatted with a neighbor and a relative on the phone and both expressed dismay that they have to mow today when they just cut the grass a few days ago and a few days before that. At this time of year the grass slows down and practically goes dormant. We would be more worried about getting a frost on our remaining veggies than finding time to mow again.

I'm not sure where you live, but here in the SE section of the state, we've had abundant rainfall, plus favorable temps. This is unusual for Sept. around here. Most years the grass is very short in Sept., and I only cut it to even out the height of the weeds, and chop up the leaves that have fallen.

we cut our lawn just last weekend and weve never done that in the 20 yrs weve lived in our house. We barely cut it this summer. Im in northern wi. half an hour away from michigan.

There was only a three week period that we cut once a week. Other weeks, it was twice. We had such a nice growing season this year.
