Could someone please direct me to a picture of a trout lily corm. I have searched the forums and done some internet searches and haven't found a picture of the corm, just the leaves and flowers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link showing corms from various kinds of trout lilies. One of the pictures shows the whole plant. This is what the ones in my woods, e. americanum, look like (very long slender stems connecting the leaves to the corms) so that if you dig one up you have to dig quite deep to not sever the plant from the corm.

Here is a link that might be useful: photos of corms

I agree that they are very deep rooted. Most of what I have came as seed "hitch hikers" with other woodland plants. They do spread very easily, and some people think they become "pests," but I love them. They prefer moist slopes but they come up in many places at my house.

Thank you lisa03, and ncrescue. From all the information I've received I've been able to determine that I was indeed given trout lily corms.
