Does honeysuckle have prickly stems when small?

Thanks to the earlier responses. I may have used the wrong term. The small ones, under a foot or so, have hairy, prickles along the stems, but the big ones, several feet tall, have smooth stems. Does honeysuckle have prickles on stems when small? By prickles, you couldn't possibly pull them out with out gloves, sort of tiny, tiny hairs all along the stem.

Sounds like a type of saw briar or cat briar. Are the stems green?

I've never noticed our honeysuckle being prickly when small.
