Virginia Bluebells

Is it OK for Virginia Bluebells to be cut back soon after they're done blooming, or should you wait until the foliage withers and turns yellow before cutting back (like recommended for daffodils)?

I would recommend that you leave them until the foliage dies back on it's own. They are true spring ephemerals and generally the foliage doesn't last but a few weeks anyway. Those leaves are making the blooms for next year at this time. Mark

I planted Ligularia in front of mine, by the time they start yellowing, the Ligularia have gotten big enough to block the view.
