Does honeysuckle have thorns on branches?

I think we have a large infestation of honeysuckle, but when I did a google search, it just showed leaves for identification (the leaves haven't completely unfurled for the year). The are has dozens of plants about 1 foot tall, that have hairy thorns all up and down the stems and the roots are like little branches that clump together at the base and are very easy to pull up. Does this sound like honeysuckle?? It is also greening up earlier than anything else in the woods. Thanks in advance for any help.
