Are they dead?

Let's suppose one were to (stupidly) plant some very young Amelanchiers in a deer infested property and though this person had read that deer generally don't take an interest in amelanchiers this person has first hand knowledge that deer WILL eat anything even those things that are allegedly poisonous to them...and let's say that indeed the deer found the amelanchiers and bit all the leaves off....are these young trees likely to die from this damage? I have noted that deer will chew leaves and shoots off spicebushes (Lindera benzoin) and paw paws but these species are shrubby and seem to recover....I am not familiar w/the habits of the serviceberry (Amelanchier). Will they recover?
