Native walkable ground cover to replace English Ivy

learn2turn

The prior owner put in English Ivy which has escaped and take up as a ground cover between my garden and the woodlands behind my house. I'm just starting to remove invasive plants (English Ivy, Vinca Minor, Rosa multiplora) and want to work on converting the woodland margins and marginal wetland into a native woodland garden, encouraging native species, amending with selected native species and tearing out invasive plants.

I'd like to start pulling the ivy (and the Vinca too.) Some of the area where the Ivy is, I walk on to tend the garden. I like to replace it with a walkable native ground cover.

Conditions--

Part sun to moderate shade

Moist to wet.

Massachusetts, zone 6 (used be be zone 5 before "climate change")
