Virginia bluebell foliage

Hello! I have ALOT (100's) of Virginia bluebells in my yard, which I really like when they are all in bloom. However, they are all starting to fade now and I have a very ugly sea of fading foliage in nearly every one of my beds. The area that I call "wild" with vinca, ivy, ferns, trillium, daffodils, etc. I allow the bluebells to just fade away. However, in my beds of hosta, coral bells, Japanese painted fern, etc. the bluebells are smothering as they fade. So, can I pull the foliage once it starts to fade without compromising my bloom. I did the past two years (I couldn't stand it), and it doesn't seem to have made a difference when I compare the wild area bloom to the bed bloom, but this year overall didn't seem as impressive as past year's. Perhaps I'm just not as impressed as I was the first two years here though as I've grown used to the impressive show!!

Thanks for any advice!
