Wax Myrtles or Bayberries near Black Walnut?

| Hi All,
I'm looking for an evergreen screen for a corner that is under power lines. So it can't get taller than 30' at maturity - unless I want our power company to come hack the h@#$% out of it! :)
To make things even more limited we have Black Walnuts nearby (~15' away) so I need juglone resistant plants.
Lists of these are incomplete and sometimes contradictory.
Does anyone here have Waxmyrtle (Morella cerifera/Myrica cerifera)or Southern Bayberry (Morella caroliniensis/ Myrica heterophylla) growing near Black Walnut or Butternut trees? If so, could you share your experience?

| Well I'm trying the wax myrtle. Someone has to first right? If I remember (which is a bit of gamble!) I'll try to post back my results. -Helen |

i am considering planting myrica near a black walnut and want to know how it worked out for you. i want to plant an evergreen shrub border and am gambling on ilex, elaeagnus, and euonymus. do you have any results yet?
by the way, i read that one reason the lists of juglone tolerance contradict each other is that some plants tolerate juglone in dry soil, but not moist soil. |
