Thalictrum sp.?

My first guess was meadow rue, so maybe that's correct.

Cohosh... likely blue but man it's tall... it's supposed to grow anywhere from 1-3 feet and yours looks like it's at least at the 3' mark.

There is also Black Cohosh which grows VERY tall... 5+ feet tall but the leaves don't look the same as Blue Cohosh. Look it up though and see what you think.

I can see the similarities to blue cohosh, but those leaves are not as smooth as my plants'. Mine are very thin, and very smooth, like most columbine leaves are.

we do have 2 native thalictrum's dioicum & polygamum. yours looks like thalictrum polygamum. i do grow thalictrum diocum it blooms early.

If anyone is still reading this, I have a question about thalictrum. I have the native T. aquilegiafolium (white flowers) in my yard, as well as a cultivated variety with a purple flower. Spontaneously, a very tall plant with the same type of columbine-like leaves and yellow flowers has appeared. I think this may be a hybrid, but the yellow seems like an odd color for a hybrid of white and purple. Does anyone know of a yellow T. aquilegiafolium or other Thalictrum species

Thalictrum flavum subsp. glacum is yellow flowering. Mine is blooming now, it is native to europe to the caucasus, russia. Thalictrum aquilegiifolium is native to europe through temperate asia. It is not native here. thalictrum flavum has bluish, rubbery foliage.
